Derby restaurant and café bar opens today after £650k investment

Restaurant and café bar Carnero Lounge is set to open in Derby’s St Peter’s Street today.

Parent company Loungers — which opened Cosy Club in Derby back in April — invested £650,000 redeveloping the site into a retro and eclectic environment with dramatic artwork, vintage sofas and statement light fittings.

Jenny Arnot, operations manager at Loungers, said: “Derby is the perfect location for our Lounge concept. There’s already a thriving and vibrant community and we’re really looking forward to playing our part. Residents will be served by the very best — our new team is passionate about hospitality.”

John Forkin, managing director of Marketing Derby, said: “Our investment team has been working to convince Loungers of the business case for Derby. Their last investment in the city, Cosy Club, is thriving and we wish Carnero every success.”
