On the move: the latest East Midlands hires

Beth Bishop

A Nottingham PR agency is going for gold with the appointment of a new account executive with Olympic experience.

Beth Bishop has joined the team at NottsPR.com after a three year spell as media officer for one of Team GB’s most successful Olympic sports, Taekwondo.

She joined the sport after graduating from university in 2013 and went on to manage all communications for the governing body including social media channels and newsletters.

She will be working across the agency’s exciting mix of consumer and B2B public relations and social media accounts.

NottsPR.com director Steve McComish said: “It’s great to welcome Beth into the NottsPR.com team. She has a wealth of experience of dealing with the media and working with journalists on tight deadlines.

“The skills she’s developed working on media campaigns with top athletes are going to be very valuable within the agency and we are looking forward to adding her skills to our social and PR campaigns.”

Exco InTouch (an ERT company), the Nottingham-based provider of digital patient engagement and data capture solutions for clinical research and healthcare providers, is on the hunt for the next generation of industry superstars.

The company, which is based at Wheatcroft Business Park in Nottingham, is heading to several careers fairs across the East Midlands in search of four undergraduates to join the company for one year on a full-salary placement in both its Software Development and Operations divisions.

John Brown, resourcing manager at Exco InTouch, said: “We’ll be on the look-out for bright individuals who are interested in technology and want to help bring life-changing medications to the patients who need them. We’ve seen

time and time again that those who go back to university fly through their final year using the skills they’ve learned with us.”

Alex Davies, who is studying BA Geography at the University of Nottingham, is currently working in Exco InTouch’s Project Management team as part of his placement.

He said: “Working at Exco InTouch has taught me that you can’t approach any job from a one-sided standpoint. I’ve been helped so much by everyone here and I’ve learned a lot – but I like to think that I’ve given something back, too. Exco InTouch are committed to helping young people grow into their careers.”

Meanwhile, Andy Lynk, who studies BSc Computer Science and Maths at Loughborough University said: “Coming to Exco InTouch was a great choice for me. I’ve learned so much on the technical side of the business already and I’ve taken a big step forward from my first two years at university. The environment is great to work in, and I’d urge everyone interested in tech and/or pharma to consider Exco.”

Brown added: “We’d like to welcome undergraduates who can work hard and hit the ground running to the Exco InTouch team. In return we offer a salary of £16,500 for the year’s placement and a chance to take your experiences with us back into your final degree year and pass with flying colours. And, of course, there is the very real opportunity that we could welcome undergraduates back on a more permanent basis once they’ve finished their studies.”
