Social Media Manager

POST- recruitment is working exclusively with an innovative and forward thinking company that operates six distinctive lifestyle brands, this newly created Social Media Manager position to deliver the media presence across these brands.

Duties will include;

Taking brand direction from the brand/marketing managers you will translate the overall Brand Plans into amazing social content that is engaging and will ultimately build brand equity, audiences and engagement across Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, YouTube and Pinterest.

The role includes working with team members (internal and external) to lead and advise on social strategy and execution. In addition, you will support the wider marketing team and business with key social initiatives as required.

The role reports into the Marketing Director who, in conjunction, with the GM Marketing, has overall responsibility for the Brand Equity of the brands – your role is to bring these equities to life for customers/potential customers in a social context.

What we need from you–

i) Social Infrastructure

Responsible for the overall management of 28 social accounts across 6 brands.
Key channels – Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, YouTube and Pinterest.
Plan content across multiple channels/brands using our scheduling platform Social Pilot

ii) Content Creator

Working with the Marketing/brand managers and the in-house creative team your role will be to create amazing content that will engage and grow our target audiences. This will include:

i. Coming up with content/campaign ideas from scratch

ii. Creating post copy

iii. Curating photos and videos/brief effectively to in-house creative team

iv. Supporting/creating engaging blog posts and articles

v. Managing and building social communities and groups, kicking off or joining in/encouraging discussions and conversations

vi. Developing and managing competitions

vii. Creating and adapting content to each specific network

The brands need an injection of personality and fun and this needs to come across when planning out the content. This also includes being spontaneous and reactive to what’s going on in the world or what people are saying about our products and brands.
You will work closely with our B2C team to ensure consistency at a campaign level and support on any sales promotions across social.

iii) News Junkie

You will need to/want to be in the thick of current affairs, what’s trending, even celebrity gossip! Basically, a bit of a news junkie.
You will need to know where to look for news and inspiration and what people are saying about it.
Know what’s working well on social for other brands
Skilled at “newsjacking”
Be aware of what our category competitors are doing in the social space and ensure that our social content has real stand out.

iv) Facebook Manager

You will be familiar with Facebook Manager and will coordinate with the marketing team to agree which brands/products to promote and invest in.
You will advise on the best tactics/mechanics and assist with audience selection.
Liaise with the B2C team to ensure we are capitalising on any previous Facebook ads, utilising their data and insight.

v) Analysing & Reporting

You need to be able to dig into the data, analyse it, provide insights and direction.
This includes macro data such as overall reach, likes, views etc to micro data such as individual experiments around content positioning or audiences.
Basically – what works, what doesn’t, what can we do differently?
You will be encouraged to experiment and try different approaches so that we can fine tune our content and social activity to the broader benefit of our Marketing Plans.
You will be responsible for coordinating and producing regular (e.g. monthly) reports on social activity including the social dashboard (e.g. reach, likes, total followers, engagement, referrals per brand).

vi) Social Capability

You will look to learn from successful brands and bring in best practice.
You will support the Marketing Team to drive our brands and new products and help out, as required, to deliver our overall business objectives.
You will develop yourself and the skills of the wider Marketing Team so that we are continually improving what we do.

vii) Personal Attributes and Minimum Requirements

The right attitude – someone who has ideas and drive to make things happen.
Social experience – the ideal candidate will have experience of managing social for product brands and will have delivered successful social campaigns and / or projects.
Someone who understands the potential that social media presents to brands when coordinated effectively with other sales and marketing activity.
Gets things done – capable of handling multiple priorities and managing resource effectively, including the ability to react to change and adapt plans accordingly.
Collaborative – a team player who is comfortable working across internal and external organisations to make connections and move things forward effectively.
External Focus – an interest in seeking out best-practice and a willingness to learn from brand / category leaders to strengthen our social activity.
