Hammonds is a leading commercial law firm with offices throughout the UK in Manchester, London, Leeds and Birmingham as well as in Europe and in Asia. The firm employs over 1200 people, including 180 partners, working out of 11 offices in six countries.

Hammonds advises over 30 FTSE 100 companies, and their subsidiaries, and over 90 FTSE All Share companies, together with governments and financiers on all aspects of local and international law.

Hammonds Manchester office attracts work from the local market, the rest of the UK, Europe (via its network of European Offices) and from the United States and the Far East. Whilst the firm's lawyers are engaged in legal work in many parts of the world they have retained very strong links to the local and national legal market.
Under the leadership of Darren Warburton the corporate finance team has acted on some of the North West’s largest deals, whilst at the same time expanding its international practice substantially. The corporate team is supported by outstanding tax, banking and corporate recovery teams led by Jonathan Edwards, the Manchester office head, and Susan Kelly and by an EU and competition team under the leadership of Diarmuid Ryan, which we believe is unrivalled outside of London.

The firm has always had exceptional litigation expertise in its Manchester office. Under Lucci Dammone, the firm has continued to innovate and grow its national and international practice and remains committed to its well-known mediation expertise.

The Manchester employment team, led by Nick Jones, also has a market-leading reputation and attracts work from some of the UK's best known corporates.  Again, the practice is highly innovative with its own extranet and its own case management software. The pensions team in Manchester, led by Steve Southern, forms part of  the UK's leading pensions practice, which now comprises nearly 60 pensions specialists including 15 partners based across the UK.

The Manchester Office Built Environment Group - which comprises its construction, and property practices - has also made very substantial progress under the leadership of Manchester-based international department head, Liam Buckley. There are also a number of specialist services provided from Hammonds’ Manchester office, including Safety Health & Environment, which is led by Rob Elvin, and intellectual property and commercial advice, including franchising, spearheaded by Tom Bridgford.
