NEW STATE OF THE ART EVENT PAVILION TO FUND CAPESTHORNE HALLS MODERNISATION PROGRAMME

A three-year modernisation programme at Siddington's 18th century Capesthorne Hall will be made possible by the estate's latest 21st century feature.

A new, state of the art glazed pavilion structure will be commercially available for corporate events, including award ceremonies, conferences and exhibitions, private parties, gala balls, dinners and wedding banquets.

And the income will be used to restore one of the oldest parts of the hall - the cobbled mews yard which is nearly 250 years old.

The garage there - where horse drawn carriages, and later Rolls Royce cars, were once stored - will be converted into a 1,600 square foot hi-tech office suite during the three-phase restoration and modernisation project.

There will also be repairs to theatre wing stonework, roofing and chimneys as well as a comprehensive landscaping and planting programme.

"The newest feature of the hall will be helping to restore the oldest part," says hall manager Christine Mountney.

The versatile 580 square foot pavilion, with its own kitchen and luxury toilet areas, will provide event space for up to 500 people and will be large enough to drive cars in for indoor motor shows. Capesthorne Pavilion has been specifically designed to facilitate every type of corporate event. The structure is built to a standard not seen in the northern events market.

But weddings are expected to be the main use - adding a large single space to Capesthorne's more traditional suite of smaller rooms overlooking the lakes and gardens.

"Capesthorne is already one of Cheshire's most romantic wedding venues," says Kris Beaumont, general manager of Archant's ‘Cheshire and Lancashire Bride' magazine.

The Pavilion will be opening its doors for the first time on Friday 9th January for a corporate launch event.
