Having spent more than 20 years working in leisure and tourism for major attractions including Tate Liverpool, now as chief executive for Albert Dock, Liverpool, Sue has earned her place as one of the most inspirational businesswomen in the North West region.

Sue is responsible for the strategic development and management of Albert Dock, which is the NorthWest’s most visited free tourist attraction, last year welcoming more than 6m visitors.

It is also the largest grouping of Grade I-listed buildings in the UK within a World Heritage Site.

Sue will explain the story behind the creation of her ambitious ‘175’ strategy that comes to fruition in 2021, when the attraction celebrates 175 years since Prince Albert officially opened Albert Dock in 1846, and the positive impact this will have on the Liverpool City Region.

Working in a predominantly male world, Sue will share her experiences in change management, offer tips on how to make your voice heard, and talk about her belief in keeping an open mind, accepting that you won’t always know the answers, and getting help when required.

Sue also feels strongly about maintaining a work-life balance and she is perfectly placed to help women who are launching and running their own businesses, or those who are dealing with daily challenges in a corporate world.

Her volunteer roles include chair and director of Liverpool Waterfront Business Partnership CIC and deputy chair of Liverpool Visitor Economy Network (LVEN).

She also sits on the Liverpool World Heritage Site steering group and is director of Heart of Glass, an agency for collaborative and social arts practice based in St Helens, as well as Open Eye, an independent not-for-profit photography gallery in Liverpool.
Join us on Thursday, June 7 to hear from Sue and network with around 80 women from business and the professional services over lunch.
