Property chiefs urge energy overhaul

GOVERNMENT policies to reduce carbon emissions from offices, shops and factories - responsible for around half of UK emissions - by 2050 are set to fail, according to a report by the British Property Federation.
Energy performance certificates only offer theoretical information on a building’s design and don’t measure actual energy use – which is likely to change drastically once a tenant is inside, said the BPF.
