THE merger of Preston Bus with transport giant Stagecoach is to be investigated by the Competition Commission, as the OFT thinks the end of “bus wars” between the two companies could be anti-competitive.Preston Bus was suffering financial difficulties and is understood to have approached Stagecoach about the £7m acquisition, which was approved by its employee shareholders in January.
