Watson Moore bullish after year of growth

FINANCIAL recruitment specialist Watson Moore is expanding after an 84% jump in revenue last year.

It has hired two new members of staff and is eyeing opening an office in London.

The Manchester company, which also has an office in Leeds, grew turnover in 2010 to £2.59m from £1.39m in 2009. Gross profits rose too, by 45% over the same period,

Founded 10 years ago by accountant David Moore and former lawyer Derrick Watson, Watson Moore has added two more consultants to its team of 18.

Both based at Lincoln Square in Manchester, Camryn Boshoff will be focusing on the professional services sector and Kayleigh Hindmarch will be joining the interim team.

Managing Director, David Moore observed: “Whilethe recession has undoubtedly proved an immensely difficult time throughout the business community, it has also highlighted the vital importance of appointing a strong finance department, led by a robust and commercially astute finance director, in order to survive the commercial pressures.

“We’re looking at having a London presence as we spend so much time there already with our private equity clients. Generally the deals market in the North West and nationally seems to be strong.

“Whilst the economic outlook remains challenging, we are confident of significant growth in 2011 and will be looking to further extend the team, in line with our continued expansion,” he added.

In the last 12 months Watson Moore recruited Paul Meehan as chief financial office at online retailer The Hut group; Anthony Riley as finance director of Daisy Group and advised Liverpool company Secured Mail on its recruitment of Michael Owen as finance director.
