Aston Ventures’ new vehicle ready to invest

FUND manager Aston Ventures has said that it is primed to make its first acquisition for via the recently-launched KHG Private Equity Fund.

The firm said that it has completed an initial fundraising round via an Isle of Man-based, open-ended fund and now has a “significant level” of capital to invest in profitable private companies.

Aston Ventures was co-founded ten years ago by Douglas Barrowman, Tim Eve and Paul Ruocco, although the latter subsequently went off to form his own investment business with two ex-directors of Aston’s biggest investment company, B3 Cables.

It is acting as investment advisor to the KHG Private Equity fund, which has been developed by Isle of Man investment boutique Creechurch Capital. The fund has a minimum investment level of £10,000 which is much lower than the typical entry level of investment into private equity funds.

Aston Ventures partner Tim Eve said: “The launch of the fund marks the beginning of a new and exciting era for Aston Ventures.

“We have been working over the past year to develop the fund and create a strong pipeline of acquisition opportunities.

“We are concentrating our focus on high-quality businesses with strong profitability and cash generation. Our acquisition structures will be equity-led, ensuring that there is no undue leverage placed upon portfolio companies.

“Post-acquisition, we will take an active management role within our portfolio of businesses, working alongside the incumbent management teams to achieve ongoing success.”
