Daisy promotes operating officer to its board

DAISY Group, the Lancashire-based telecoms firm which yesterday bought Outsourcery’s Vodafone mobile services business for £12m, has announced that it has appointed chief operating officer Gareth Kirkwood to its group board of directors.

Kirkwood, 47, joined Daisy Group in 2009 after previously being director of operations at British Airways.

He had held senior roles in British Airways for 14 years including the positions of managing director at British Airways World Cargo and its regional airlines division, as well as being vice-president of purchasing at USAir.

Since joining Daisy he has been focussing on integrating various acquisitions into the group.

Daisy CEO Matthew Riley said: “We are delighted to welcome Gareth to the board of Daisy Group. We are confident that his business experience will assist Daisy in its next phase of growth and he will continue to be a valuable asset to the team.

“In his role as COO, Gareth has impressed in his ability to manage the successful integration of the many acquisitions the Group has made.

“Since joining Daisy Group, Gareth has successfully overseen the integration of nine of the Group’s acquisitions whilst delivering the continuing organic progress of the business, including driving the cross-sales of the group’s divisions.”
