THE North West has seen the greatest demand for property from first time buyers in the UK, according to new research from RICS.

It found that the region recorded the highest proportion of first time buyers over the last three months, with surveyors reporting they accounted for 23% of new enquiries.

Nationally, surveyors reported that 13% of new enquiries came from first time buyers.
