Moulton’s Better Capital buys software firm Trinity

VETERAN private equity investor John Moulton’s Better Capital has swooped for a £3m turnover firm specialising in supplying IT systems to distribution companies.

Trinity Computer Services of Bredbury, Stockport, has been acquired by Better Capital’s US-based portfolio investment, Calyx Software.

Trinity, which also has an office in Airdrie, Scotland and small sales unit in the US, was founded 25 years ago.

It develops wholesale and distribution application software products, using Microsoft Dynamics GP as the core finance system.
In the year ending September 30 last year its turnover was £2.9m.

The acqusition, announced along with the purchase the business software arm of Touchstone Group, makes California-based Calyx the UK’s largest Microsoft Dynamics GP reseller with more than 500 customers.
