A KENDAL-based company has tapped into an export market in Japan for its sheep-themed giftware.
The Herdy Company, set up by design consultants Spencer and Diane Hannah, produces a range of merchandise using Cumbria's indigenous sheep breed, the Herdwick, as inspiration.
The company's products were popular with Japanese tourists so Mr and Mrs Hannah targeted the country as a potential market with help from UK Trade & Investment, the Government's international trade body.
