£70m land deal brings new Sellafield power station closer

A CONSORTIUM of energy companies has bought land earmarked for a new nuclear power station at Sellafield, which will create more than 6,000 new jobs if it gets the go-ahead.The 470-acre site of mainly farmland lies to the north of the existing site at Sellafield. It was bought from the Nuclear Decommissioning Authority (NDA) for £70m by a consortium of Iberdrola, GdF and Scottish & Southern Energy.The energy consortium will now investigate the site to determine the best location for its proposed nuclear development befor......for the full story register now for free or login below...
