A NOTORIOUS motorway service station near Bolton - dubbed the worst in Britain - is to be demolished.

The distinctive zig-zag shape of Bolton West's roof will go under new plans submitted by its owner to Chorley Borough Council.

Forecourt operator Euro Garages, which bought the site on the M61 in June, wants to demolish the existing buildings and replace them with a new complex.
