Stripes sets sail for Ship Canal House

EXPANDING law firm  Stripes Solicitors is moving to new offices on King Street, Manchester.

The firm is taking 6,500 sq ft in Ship Canal House and is looking to complete the move from John Dallton Street next week.

Despte the recession, which has hit many of the larger firms in the legal sector hard, Stripes has made a number of key appointments this year.

Managing Director Andrew Stripe said the move would give the firm more room to grow and allow it to serve its clients better.

He said: “The move to new premises reflects our strategy of investing in a team of highly skilled senior lawyers to take advantage of the changing legal landscape and offer our clients a personal and value for money service.

“Having outgrown our current premises the move will provide additional space for growth. Ship Canal House is an iconic building which been refurbished and modernised to a high standard, and will provide improved facilities for staff and clients alike.”

This year has seen the recruitment of corporate lawyer Melanie Yeomans from
Nexus and head of real estate Andrew Dunn arrived from Cobbetts.

Mark Lewis set up the firm’s new media and sport division after joining from George Davies.

The employment team was strengthened by the arrival of director Daniel Rubin from Addleshaw Goddard, and Tony Winterburn, who was previously head of litigation at JMW Solicitors, bolstered the litigation department.
