Swinton buys in Swindon

INSURANCE broker Swinton Group has opened its 34th commercial insurance office in the UK after buying Swindon-based competitor Brunsdon Westinsure.

Swinton said the deal is the 11th it has completed this year.

Carolyn Callan, director of Swinton Commercial, said: “We are delighted to announce the acquisition of the Brunsdon Westinsure book of business.

“Their team has a strong reputation, understands the business market in the region and offers a mix of specialist knowledge which will serve to strengthen Swinton’s offering further.”

Rod Alcorn of Brunsdon Westinsure said: “We carefully considered a number of offers for our business and were impressed by the enthusiasm of the commercial team at Swinton.

“This is an exciting time for the team.  Over the coming months there will be a sharing of skills and expertise and we’re confident this can only mean a better service for clients.”
