JD Sports Fashion, the Bury-based retailer, has bought controlling stakes in the Australian and New Zealand arms of the sports clothing brand Canterbury.

JD already has the global rights and Canterbury's European business and described its latest move as a further step to, "control the global distribution of the Canterbury brand".
