BBC presenter Warhurst to host Business Masters Awards
BBC presenter Nina Warhurst has been announced as the host of the 2016 North West Business Masters Awards, which take place next week.
Born and raised in Manchester, Warhurst’s career started in Moscow as a news desk producer for Russia Today.
Since then journalism has taken her to Libya, Azerbaijan, Brazil, Israel, the West Bank and Uganda.
She has a passion for politics, having completed an MA in History and Politics at the University of Edinburgh.
Warhurst joined the BBC in 2010, and in November returned from maternity leave to become BBC political editor for the North West, based at MediaCity.
She has grilled Teresa May and Jeremy Corbyn this year, and last week she interviewed the “Two Georges” (Osborne and Galloway) in the space of 12 hours. Thankfully she didn’t get her notes mixed up.
The awards, supported by Manchester Metropolitan University, are being held on Thursday April 6 at the Midland Hotel in Manchester and will celebrate excellence in enterprise and entrepreneurship across the region.
Previous winners of the Masters Awards include household names such as Jaguar Land Rover, JD Sports, high growth firms including Better Bathrooms and entrepreneurs such as Fred Done of Bet Fred and philanthropic investor Norman Stoller.
