Fintech champions Whitecap launch two new offices

Lal Tawney, Stefan Haase MSc and Luke Freeman of Whitecap

Whitecap Consulting, a strategic consultancy based in Leeds, is expanding with the launch of two offices.

The firm, which works with UK businesses of £10m to £300m in revenues, has hired three new equity directors.

Whitecap champions digital and technology-driven growth and is spearheading the FinTech North 2017 event at this year’s Leeds Digital Festival on 26 April.

Luke Freeman will be covering the North West from a new office in Deansgate, Manchester.

Lal Tawney will head up the Midlands and South region from another new office in Milton Keynes.

Lastly Stefan Haase, a technology strategist who is based in the Leeds office has also been promoted. All three were formerly in Whitecap’s team of 25 associates.

Managing director Richard Coates said: “We are now on our own fast track growth path and plan to more than double in size over the next 12-18 months, creating more consulting jobs in the regional offices. Our new directors have sector specialisms, strong regional networks and established experience as strategy advisers to meet client needs across the country.

“Client assignments are coming from a number of areas – regional devolution in general; Northern Powerhouse and regional authority initiatives; digital and technology; and of course, new products, markets and international opportunities. We are now growing the business in line with our aspiration to build a significant regional consultancy firm.

“Many have got their heads down and are focused on driving business performance – as they should be. They don’t have the depth of resources or sometimes the head space to analyse customer needs and new markets, look at growth opportunities and impact of technology and then put all this into a pragmatic plan that will deliver profit quickly. We can provide the specialist expertise and senior management teams to help do this.”
