Four Lancashire Burger King restaurants affected by double administration

Two companies running four Burger King outlets in Lancashire have gone into administration.

The fast food restaurants are among 36 across the UK, with a total of 1,000 jobs now under threat.

The North West outlet are in the StrEAT Foodcourt, in Accrington’s Arndale Centre; at The Mall Shopping Centre in Blackburn; the Houndshill Shopping Centre at Victoria Street in Blackpool and in the Arndale Shopping Centre in Morecambe.

Business advisory firm AlixPartners’ Nick Cropper, Ryan Grant and Catherine Williamson were appointed joint administrators over Millcliffe Ltd and CPL Foods Ltd on April 7.

They were called in after the businesses suffered cash flow pressure, primarily due to delays in developing and opening new stores, the administrators said.

The eateries are continuing to trade while “all possible options for a sale of all or parts of the business” are explored.

They said they would also work closely with the franchisor Burger King Europe GmbH to buyers.
Cropper said: “Our priority now is to work closely with the business and determine the optimum route forward for the companies as we continue to serve our valued guests throughout the UK.”

“We are confident that the companies are an attractive proposition for a range of potential buyers and, as such, we expect and welcome contact from interested third parties.”
