Software start-up Reconfigure.io on course for £3m after link up with Amazon

Software business

Manchester-based enterprise software start-up Reconfigure.io has been included in a global partnership to improve computing performance which will help boost its revenue to beyond £3m by 2018.

It has teamed up with Amazon Web Services, the world leader in cloud services provision, which has just released advanced compute acceleration capabilities, allowing systems software developers easier access to previously specialist technology.

Reconfigure.io has very recently completed its first commercial grade compute acceleration product, which sits alongside AWS’s breakthrough offering and provides additional speed and capacity gains of up to 100x.

The company is tackling the major global problem of IT systems struggling to cope with the massive data demands driven by explosive growth in areas such as cybersecurity, artificial intelligence and online media.

Founder Rob Taylor says that for the last 50 years computer performance and cost gains were driven by relentless advances in silicon chips, a process known as Moore’s Law after Gordon Moore, Intel’s founder.

However, in recent years, these gains have slowed and left the global computing industry seeking new ways to keep computer performance apace with extra demands and fresh possibilities.

The ambitious company, which began engineering last year, has now hit 12 members and is currently filling its second round funding.

Taylor, said: “We have been attracting strong interest from many global software players and our partnership with AWS opens up a massive market for us with software developers everywhere.”
