Acuma Solutions, part of the Saksoft Group, specialists in information management and business intelligence, has relocated its northern office to Stockport.

The 4,530sq ft office, based on the second floor in Applicon House, will complement the company’s sales operation in London and accommodate staff involved in digital transformation and information management projects across the UK and overseas.

Trading for more than 20 years, Acuma was previously based in Baguley and works with a variety of blue chip clients from the public and private sector.

These range from States of Jersey, Manchester and Stoke City councils to Marks & Spencer, AstraZeneca and the British film industry.

Acuma provides a complete services to help customers develop a competitive edge in a fast-changing digital world, including consulting, strategy, building data-warehouses, analytics, plus training and post-life support.

Acuma’s Jonathan Eeley, director of consulting and public sector sead, said Acuma had chosen central Stockport for its excellent transport links, especially trains to London and Manchester, good location of the office building and attractive deal.

He said: “It is a well-finished, modern and yet cosy environment, with plenty of natural light and space.

“When we first walked in to view the existing configuration was also pretty spot on for our needs.”

The office will remain largely open-plan in keeping with Acuma’s collaborative culture and work ethic and there will be meeting and training rooms.

Eeley went on: “We run a lot of education courses for clients so flexibility and options here were important. We also need space to grow the team – there is room here for 10 more people in time.”

The new workspace is situated in Stockport town centre and is close to the new Stockport Exchange development which has provided a new NCP car park, Sainsbury’s convenience store and generally enhanced the public realm areas surrounding the train station.

Rhys Owen, leasing director for agent, Orbit Developments, said: “We are delighted to welcome a company of Acuma’s calibre to Applicon House and the town centre.

“We have seen major redevelopment in Stockport over the past three years with the Redrock retail and leisure scheme, Stockport Exchange and the work in Stockport Old Town.”
