101 Embankment, Manchester - home to Swinton Insurance

Swinton Insurance has kicked off its 60th anniversary by officially moving into its new home at 101 Embankment.

The company is now searching for an another tenant to share its headquarters.

Swinton is leasing the 165,000 q ft nine storey office and will occupy five floors and aims to sublet the top three-and-a-half.

TSK Group has completed a £6m fit out which includes a restaurant on the ground floor, leisure space with recreational games, a wellbeing area and a first aid room.

The Swinton contact centre occupies three floors above and the fourth/fifth floors will form the base for the support services, the executive team, a corporate meeting room and an event space.

Anne Kirk, marketing director at Swinton insurance, said:  “Our move to 101 Embankment establishes us centrally in Greater Manchester. This relocation demonstrates how we’re investing in the city, our colleagues and the business.

“Our new home is a vibrant space with social areas, a suite of meeting rooms and a conference zone. We’re now looking for an another organisation to sublet our three-and-a-half top floors and share this grade A office space.”

The office has 360 degree views across Greater Manchester and is decorated in bold brand colours. Each floor measures approximately 17,600 sq ft and can accommodate around 200 people.

Centrally located on the border between Manchester and Salford, 101 Embankment over looks Manchester Cathedral and main shopping district.

It offers a 442-space underground Q Park car park, close links to Exchange Square Metrolink, Manchester Victoria and storage for 57 bikes. The building includes bicycle storage, showers, a drying room, lockers and shared breakout kitchens.

101 Embankment forms the largest commercial property deal in Greater Manchester in the last 10 years.

The building has been designed in an environmentally friendly way and has an ‘excellent’ sustainability rating by BREEAM (building research establishment environmental assessment method).

It is a joint venture between Ask Real Estate, Carillion, and Tristan Capital Partners. CBRE and Cushman & Wakefield are the acting letting agents.
