Law firm Bromleys has expanded its flagship Court of Protection team with three new arrivals.

The Tameside practice has recruited David Hilton as a senior associate, Hannah Thomas as a solicitor and Lynda Williams as a chartered legal executive.

Bromleys’ Court of Protection team, which is led by John Longworth, acts for clients who lack the mental capacity to manage their own property and financial affairs due to reasons such as injury, illness or old age.

Hilton has joined Bromleys from Irwin Mitchell’s Manchester office, where he led the Court of Protection team.

His areas of expertise include high value damages management, assisting non-professional Deputies in their role, care provision and entitlement to public funding options; contested Court of Protection applications and lasting powers of attorney.

Newly-qualified Thomas has moved from Hill and Co Solicitors in Altrincham, while Williams previously worked at Hugh Jones Solicitors in Salford, where she gained extensive experience in managing the day-to-day affairs of those who can no longer manage their own.

Longworth said: “These latest recruits strengthen our highly-regarded team, and their arrival follows a significant increase in new instructions to act on behalf of clients and their families.”

Hilton said: “I’m delighted to have the opportunity to work alongside John and his team. I look forward to helping the firm strengthen its position as one of the leading independent Court of Protection practices in the North West.”
