Work has started on the £35m luxury apartment scheme Lightbox at MediaCityUK.

MediaCityUK has appointed Bouygues UK as construction partner for the scheme, designed by international award-winning architect, AHR.

The building contains 238 studios, one, two and three-bed apartments over 19 storeys. Apartments feature highly specified contemporary kitchens, bathrooms, appliances and finishes.

The scheme is due to complete in early 2019 and apartments are available for private sale.

Craig Tatton, chief operating officer at Bouygues UK, said: “Lightbox will deliver much-needed new homes to this thriving location, and will also be a new landmark on MediaCityUK’s waterfront, so we are very excited to get development underway.

“The team behind Lightbox has extensive experience in delivering highly specified residential developments and we look forward to bringing this fantastic project to life.”

Stephen Wild, managing director at MediaCityUK, said: “MediaCityUK has become the place for people to live and visit, with an ever-growing line-up of bars, restaurants and events. Lightbox has been incredibly popular, with its prime location on the waterfront, and at the heart of what we are creating here.

“It is part of an even bigger masterplan we have to develop MediaCityUK over the next 10 years, and naturally we are excited to be working with Bouygues UK to deliver the Lightbox project.”
