Performed by The Everyman Company, Romeo and Juliet tells the tale of two young lovers who refuse to let the troubles around them affect their love for each other. The East Lancashire Railway in Bury are hosting their 1940s weekend this Bank Holiday. Taking place from Saturday until Monday, the event will host 1940s singers and entertainers, live battle scenarios, vintage vehicles, military exhibitions, craft workshops, steam engines and much more to enjoy with the whole gang. Sound City 2017
Liverpool’s Sound City returns this weekend for its 10th year. Taking place at Liverpool Waters on Clarence Dock, the festival will see acts including The Kooks, The Human League, Tim Burgees from The Charlatans, The Cribs and many more take to the stage over the weekend. Manchester band Courteeners are set to play their biggest ever home town gig at the Emirates Old Trafford Stadium on Saturday. Rock ‘N’ Roll Liverpool Marathon
Get your running trainers out and head to Liverpool’s Rock ‘N’ Roll Marathon in May. The event is for runners of all abilities to take part in and allows you to take in the sights and sounds of Liverpool, with the event starting at the Albert Dock before taking you down the likes of Matthew Street, Penny Lane and Chinatown.
