Gupta set to lead Deloitte’s northern debt advisory team

Anil Gupta is to take over as northern business lead for Deloitte’s debt advisory team in October.

Gupta joined Deloitte’s corporate finance advisory team in 2005 and has worked for the debt advisory across the North of England, especially in Yorkshire and the North East.

He takes over from Nigel Birkett who has decided to leave the firm in October 2017.

After 22 years at Deloitte, including 12 years in debt advisory and six years as a partner, he Birkett decided to pursue new challenges.

He plans to take some time out to explore other opportunities and looks forward to announcing his plans in due course.

Fenton Burgin, head of UK debt advisory at Deloitte said: “We are delighted that Anil will be leading the regional team and thank Nigel for 10 years of work in that role. Our regional debt advisory business is an integral part of our UK offering, widely recognised as one of the largest teams in the country.”

Deloitte’s debt advisory team comprises of 180 debt professionals based in 30 countries including Europe, North America, Africa and Asia.
