New head of family law for Irwin Mitchell

Ros Bever, Irwin Mitchell

Irwin Mitchell has promoted family and divorce lawyer Ros Bever to be its new head of family law.

Bever has carved out a strong reputation after taking on high-value, complex cases including a double victory in the Supreme Court in the Sharland and Gohil cases on non-disclosure.

Having led the Manchester family team at the firm she has now been promoted to lead the national team, which has 12 partners across the country.

Bever specialises in all aspects of family law including divorce and dissolution of civil partnerships, especially complex financial settlements often involving businesses, trusts, pensions and foreign property. She has extensive knowledge of co-habitation disputes and pre and post nuptial agreements.

She is one of high net worth magazine Spear’s Top Family Lawyers and is a Resolution accredited specialist. She is named as a leading individual in the Legal 500 ranking where her team is also ranked number one in the North West.

The law firm launched Irwin Mitchell Private Wealth last year following the merger with Thomas Eggar and acquisition of Berkeley Law, bringing together its private client teams including: Family Law; Wills, Trusts and Estates Disputes; Tax, Trust and Estates; and Residential Property.

Previous head of family law Martin Loxley is retiring but will remain with the firm as a consultant and will continue to work with clients in Sheffield.

Bever said: “Having launched Irwin Mitchell Private Wealth last year, it’s an exciting time to be leading the team as we seek to work more closely with our colleagues in other areas across the firm.”
