9 things for the kids to do this summer

There is no need for the kids to complain that they are bored over the summer holidays, here is what they can get up to on their doorstep over the six weeks.

The Tiger Who Came To Tea
Based on the book by Judith Kerr, the musical adaptation at The Lowry in Salford follow’s the story of a tea-guzzling tiger who joins Sophie and her mum for tea. The show is jam packed full of sing-a-long songs, chaos and lots of magic. Many surprises are also expected to make an appearance. Find out more here.

Jurassic Kingdom
Jurassic Kingdom: Where Dinosaurs Come to Life begins is taking place at Philips Park in Manchester. Take the kids along to enjoy over 30 installations of lifelike dinosaurs whilst exploring gardens and park lands. There will also be the chance to dig up dinosaur bones and get involved in a virtual reality activity that will transport you back to the Jurassic period. Find out more here.

Scrapbooking
Paperchase at St Mary’s Gate in Manchester are hosting a series of events throughout the summer, including scrapbooking. The workshops are suitable for ages 7-12, and you will need to take along photographs and souvenirs to create a fun and colourful scrapbook with the products in store. Find out more here.

Holiday drama
Liverpool’s Everyman Theatre are hosting a week of games and creating a performance for kids aged between 7-10. Kids will be able to take part in drama activities, games and loads of fun. The week ends with a short performance on the Friday afternoon. Find out more here.

Summer Football on the Dock
Liverpool’s Albert Dock are hosting a series of free football coaching sessions. Summer Football on the Dock will involve coaches from Everton in the Community and the LFC Foundation demonstrating the tricks of the sport at the Mermaid Courtyard. PAW Patrol Live is coming to both O2 Apollo Manchester and Liverpool Eco Arena this summer. Based on the hugely successful Nickelodeon TV series, everybody’s favourite pups will bring an action-packed musical adventure to the stage for the first time. Find out more here.

Camp Hangar
The Climbing Hangar in Liverpool are hosting a Camp Hangar summer kids clubs over the next few weeks. The kids climbing classes offer fun skills development for 4-17 year olds of all abilities. Family art club
The Lady Lever Art Gallery in Wirral are hosting a family art club, alongside a range of other crafty events, on the last Saturday of every month for kids between 7-12. You and the kids will get to explore the gallery and join in with a hands-on workshop, where you will all be able to try new techniques and experiment with different materials. Find out more here.

Room on the Broom
The much-loved Julia Donaldson book Room on the Broom comes to life on stage at The Lowry this summer. The play follows the story of the witch, who is flying happily along on her broomstick with her cat before a stormy wind blows the witch’s hat and wand into the night. When a hungry dragon appears, who will save the poor witch? And will there ever be room on the broom for everyone the witch meets along the way? Find out more here.
