Manchester law firm Turner Parkinson has welcomed Jonathan Royle to the firm as a senior associate in its employment team.

Having spent time at Slater and Gordon, Pannone and DLA Piper, Royle has worked with a diverse selection of businesses including start-ups and owner-managed firms, SMEs and larger employers.

His arrival to the employment team will see him join head of employment Gareth Roberts in offering commercially-focused advice on the full range of employment issues for both employers and employees.

Architect Hodder+Partners has appointed three new team members to support the ongoing growth of the practice.

Richard Newman, Simina Ionescu and Shaun Jenkins have joined the Manchester-based practice, which is celebrating its 25th year as Hodder+Partners.

Stephen Hodder, who originally founded Hodder Associates in 1983, said the recruitment comes at an exciting time for the practice, which is located at 1 Kelso Place by the River Irwell.

He said: “We haves grown significantly in recent years. The appointments of Richard, Simina and Shaun will help us build on the solid foundations that we have in place, as we continue to work on a number of diverse projects which demand high quality architecture.”

Hodder, who is also Visiting Professor at Salford University, added: “It’s a particularly exciting time for us as a practice. Last month we were recognised at the annual Manchester Architects Awards for our work on the £30m RHS Garden Bridgewater project, just days after plans for the scheme got the go-ahead.

“We are also working on several projects in sectors including sport and leisure, residential, workplace, civic and culture and healthcare.”

Manchester-based Restore Scan, the specialist document scanning sector of Restore, a specialist in document management services, has announced two senior management appointments.

Martin Taggart has joined as its new business development manager for Scotland, while Zoe Alldritt has been promoted to finance director.

Growth has been rapid at Restore Scan due to recent acquisitions and recruitment. The company is now looking to strengthen its management team further in order to boost its services the length and breadth of the UK.

Taggart, a well-known figure in the document management sector, brings more than 20 years’ experience in outsourcing services.

He will help Restore Scan to build closer relationships in key Scottish sectors such as healthcare, education and the public sector and will also forge new partnerships with key prospects across the UK.

“We are delighted to welcome Martin into this brand new role,” said Restore Scan’s sales director, Chris Thomas.

“Restore Scan is growing fast. Zoe Alldritt comes to the finance director role after a very successful period as the financial controller in the Restore Scan business. Her new role will be based in the company’s head office in Manchester.

She said: “I’m excited to be moving up to a more senior position at such an important time for the UK business. My focus will be on the continuation and acceleration of the company’s future growth.”

Directors Mark Friend and Stephen Slater have to announced the appointment of Ian Turner as the new managing director for their Liverpool-based restaurant company Bistro Qui?

Turner, previously the company’s group operations manager, brings with him a wealth of leadership experience and knowledge of the industry.

With full responsibility for the leadership and development of Bistro Qui? and its eight restaurants (Bistro Pierre Bistro Jacques, Bistro Franc, Bistro Jacques in Shrewsbury, The Hub Alehouse & Kitchen, Button Street Smokehouse, The Refinery & Chicha Peruvian Street Kitchen), Ian will play a key role in meeting the company’s aggressive growth goals as well as building on the company’s outstanding reputation for delivering fresh food and great customer service for the past 14 years.

Altrincham, Greater Manchester-based FK Group, a nationwide full building envelope contractor has announced it has hired Phil Norris as financial director.

Norris joins FK Group from William Hare Group, the UK’s leading independent steel fabrication company.

Norris spent more than a decade at William Hare Group with the last five years in the role of Group Finance Director where he was responsible for its UK, Middle East and Indian operations.

A qualified accountant, he has held various roles in finance for more 23 years. In his role at FK Group he will be responsible for ensuring it has a best in-class finance function to allow the business to concentrate on project delivery for its clients.

FK Group has seen significant growth in recent years with turnover for 2016/17 (ending 31 March 17) reaching £82m for the group, which is a 16% increase in turnover from the same period last year (£70.5m).

Norris said: “FK Group is going through significant growth. I have built my experience in a fast growing business environment at William Hare and I am relishing the challenge and the opportunities ahead in helping to take FK Group to the next level.”

Norris will work alongside the company’s two managing directors, Paul Bentley and Steve Hall, reporting into CEO Francis Keenan.

Keenan said: “Appointing Phil is a significant move for us, as we continue to grow. His experience of controlling a first class finance function will be invaluable and knowing he is at the helm of our financial operations will enable the team of directors to focus on maintaining and developing our excellent reputation for delivering the best results for our clients.”
