Jobs created as packaging firm moves into Leeds facility

Packaging Services Europe has created Leeds jobs with a move to a 26,115 sq ft site.

The Lancashire firm has invested £350,000 in the move, which will create 25 jobs once the site is at full capacity.

The services business, which specialises in the cleaning and repair of reusable packaging such as pallets and crates, has moved into the site on Copley Hill Trading Estate.

It has undertaken an extensive refurbishment, and will be able to handle 1m pallets per year through the site.

Packaging Services Europe has called it a “milestone” for the business, which counts major retailers, manufacturers and pallet poolers as customers.

Leeds is the fourth addition to PSE’s network, with operations already up and running in Nuneaton, Belfast and Dublin.

Jane Gorick, co-founder at PSE, said: “Securing and launching a site in the North of England was a key priority for the PSE business to ensure we have comprehensive UK coverage – and I’m thrilled we’ve achieved this goal so early on in the PSE journey.

“The business is now just over a year old and already we’ve achieved significant growth in order to best service our customers. In addition to the network, we have invested in the right technology and talent to deliver a service that leads the industry.

“We’re now looking forward to settling into our Leeds home and have ambitious plans to further expand PSE.”
