Funeral planning firm turnover hits £2.6m in just two years

Adam Deering

A Stockport funeral planning company is looking to triple its turnover in the next 12 months, having seen its first-year revenues of £500,000 increase to £2.6m for 2016/17.

Pride Planning’s staff numbers have have also grown, from two to 28 in the past year, with plans to double the number of employees to more than 50 in the next 12 months.

Adam Deering, co-owner of Pride Planning, said: “We’re a team of 28, which is set to double over the next year, and with the increase, so will our turnover.

“We were only established in 2014 so the sharp rise in growth has really shown how we’ve tapped into a market that was really lacking in new ideas.”

Deering and fellow owner Mike Noblett formed Pride Plannning three years ago and have just moved to bigger premises on the A6 in Stockport.

The company is partnered with more than 1,000 funeral directors in the UK.

Noblett said: “We felt there must be a better way to tackle the fact that the cost of dying is the fastest rising of any fixed cost in the UK with funeral prices having more than doubled in the last decade.

“We saw there was a massive gap in the market for a more dynamic approach.

“We’re able to offer a pre-pay service to allow people to pay for their funerals at today’s cost and protect themselves and their families against the ever growing funeral costs.”
