Boyers takes national M&A role at KPMG

Jonathan Boyers

BIG FOUR firm KPMG has appointed dealmaker Jonathan Boyers to a new role as national head of its corporate finance M&A Group.

Boyers, who has been with the firm for 28 years and is based at its Manchester office, is a high profile figure in the North West deals market.

He led the sale of Knowsley-based Clarke Energy to US company Kohler Power Group for £300m in February – a deal which won TheBusinessDesk’s International Deal of the Year at this year’s Rainmaker Awards.

He will continue with his role as head of deal advisory for the North alongside chairing the national business.

He said: “[I] believe we have a fantastic business with great heritage in the mid market and really outstanding people advising on high volumes of transactions and numerous landmark deals.

“Our corporate finance practice is part of KPMG’s wider deal advisory business which we believe advises on way more deals than anyone else and that gives us serious leverage in the market.

“I’m looking forward to overseeing the growth and development of our national M&A practice over the next few years.”

He added: “I will be remaining very much a fixture in the North West deals market and leading plenty of major deals in the next few years.”
