Hut Group set for £100m swoop for ESPA

Matthew Moulding

Online health and beauty specialist The Hut Group is set to buy skincare and spa brand ESPA for more than £100m.

An imminent deal has been reported by Sky News and comes just weeks after the Cheshire-based firm swooped for another beauty brand, Glossybox.

Other brands in its portfolio also include Mio Skincare, Grow Gorgeous and Lookfantastic.com.

UK-headquartered ESPA has more than 700 spas in 60 countries.

Private equity firm KSL Capital Partners is the company selling the brand.

The Hut Group, set up in 2004 by Matthew Moulding and John Gallemore, employs more than 3,000 people and is expecting to double that by 2019.

Sky sources claim the company is on track to deliver record sales this year of up to £750m – a 50% increase on 2016’s figure.

The Hut Group is not commenting on the report.
