Birchwood Park acquired by council-owned company for £200m

The Warrington Council-owned Warrington & Co has acquired Birchwood Park – home to more than 150 companies – from Oaktree Capital Managementin a £200m deal.

The park covers 123 acres and sits in an Enterprise Zone.

It occupies a regionally-significant location in the north east of the borough, at the junction of the M6 and M62 motorways.

Some 1.2 million square feet of accommodation is currently let employing more than 6,000 people.

The acquisition represents a significant investment and development opportunity within a growing regional market.

The council says it will seek to maximise on opportunities throughout the business park through continued investment and asset management initiatives.

Patrizia, the current asset manager at Birchwood Park, will continue in its role.

Thec ouncil has been represented by Knight Frank while JLL has acted for Oaktree.
