The purr-fect revamp on Puss in Boots pub

Inside Puss in Boots

Warrington-based DV8 Designs has unveiled its recent renovation project on a family-run Stockport pub.

Within just 10 days, DV8 Designs has transformed the Puss in Boots, run by North West Almond Family Pubs.

Almond is a family company comprising of five pubs, who had previously worked with DV8 Designs on the renovation of The Hesketh in Cheadle Hulme, Greater Manchester before inviting the company back to work on a second refurbishment project.

DV8 managing director Lee Birchall said: “Our vision has really progressed since our first meeting and from the initial brief where we suggested using a colonial theme. Colonial is very on-trend, yet retains that traditional element which lends itself to creating a cosy and intimate setting, perfect for a catch up with friends or a pub lunch with family, which certainly mirrors the ethos and brand of the Puss in Boots.

“The muted colour scheme that we have put in to place really lifts and lightens the interior, and when contrasted with an array of eye catching wall prints and furnishings in a variety of textures, brings an element of richness and warmth. We wanted to emphasise an elegant, sumptuous feel by fitting dark stained timber finishes against warm LED lighting to create a classic ambiance.”

Established in 2006, DV8 Designs is an architecture and interior design practice and says it prides itself on its thorough approach, innovative ideas and client portfolio that comprises several impressive projects with clients in hospitality, commercial, property and residential sectors.

Almond Family Pubs director James Almond said: “DV8 Designs really ran with our brief and understood how important it was for us to retain that cosy family pub feel, while adding a contemporary element for our guests.

“They did a fantastic job turning around this project so quickly, completing the main trading area in just five days to allow us to get back to business as usual making for an utterly seamless transition.”
