Burnley freight firm expands into Midlands with acquisition

Burnley-based freight and haulage group EFS.Global has bought Euro SDB Limited, which specialises in distribution, logistics and warehousing, for an undisclosed sum.

EFS.Global has eight depots and offices across the country and operates its own UK and European road freight fleet.

Its purchase of Tamworth-based Euro SDB is part of EFS.Global’s ongoing growth and acquisition strategy across the North West and Midlands, it said.

The deal follows a number of other acquisitions made by EFS in recent years including 747 Express Freight, Logictrans UK Limited, RTS Refrigeration, CS Brunt, Horizon Distribution and Euro-Tran Despatch.

Mark Jones, managing director of EFS.Global, said: “This deal marks another exciting milestone in EFS.Global’s growth. Euro SDB is a much respected name in the marketplace and so is a perfect fit for our business. The acquisition will also enable us to expand our service offering even further.”

Davis Blank Furniss advised EFS.Global on all aspects of the deal including legal due diligence and transactional matters, led by Sonio Singh, partner in the corporate department.

Other advisors involved in the transaction were RBS Group, part funders of the deal, whilst KBS Corporate and Gateley PLC handled advisory and legal matters for the shareholders of Euro SDB Limited.
