The Bodyline Clinic, a group of medically led weight management clinics across the North West, has been bought in an MBO by one of the partners running the business.

Sally Ann Turner has completed the deal with the help of a seven-figure combined equity and loan facility from the Merseyside-based MSIF.

The Bodyline Clinic has been trading for more than 12 years, with a head office in Wilmslow, Cheshire and numerous other practicing clinics including Crosby, Birkenhead, Stockport and Warrington.

Each clinic is operated by a medical team, which is overseen by the clinical director who is also an NHS consultant in public health.

The clinics offer advice and guidance on lifestyle, nutrition, diet and exercise, with each client receiving a tailored weight loss plan and effective weight loss aid medication if necessary.

MSIF provided  a combined equity and mezzanine loan facility for Turner to purchase the majority of the share capital of the business.

Brian McCann and James Curtis from MC Vanguard provided corporate finance advice to Turner and the company, including working with management to develop an operating financial model to support MSIF’s investment.

Turner said: “I am really looking forward to this exciting opportunity to expand this already successful business.

“We’re the best at what we do. Bodyline is setting the bar for the medical weight loss clinic industry; our great team of medical professionals, their passion and our high end clinics are continually allowing us to exceed our clients’ expectations.

“I have big plans for The Bodyline Clinic. We aim to roll our service out further – expanding our offering with new clinics across England.”

Simon Thelwall-Jones, investment director at MSIF, said: “Sally clearly has a great deal of knowledge of The Bodyline Clinic due to her pre-existing involvement in the business. She has an excellent relationship with her staff and is heavily involved with the operational side of the business.”

James Curtis at MC Vanguard said: “The Bodyline Clinic, under Sally’s leadership, has substantial growth potential; so we are pleased to see MSIF provide the capital that will allow the company to expand its service lines and footprint over the next five years.”
