Changes in the financial driving seat for Conviviality and Arrow Global

Bargain Booze collapse

Crewe-based Conviviality, owner of Bargain Booze and Wine Rack, has announced its group chief finance officer Andrew Humphreys will step down from the AIM-listed company’s board at the end of the month and will leave the business after a period of handover to his successor.

His place will be taken by Mark Moran, who has more than 20 years’ experience at CFO level across a number of different businesses.

Moran has been CFO of three public companies – Porvair Plc, SSL International Plc and Premier Foods Plc – and latterly was CFO of the private equity-owned Priory Healthcare Group before its acquisition by Acadia Healthcare in 2016.

Conviviality chief executive Diane Hunter said: “We are hugely grateful for Andrew’s contribution to Conviviality, having played a key role in the company’s significant growth, including his pivotal roles in the Matthew Clark and Bibendum PLB acquisitions.

“He leaves with the best wishes of the board for his future career. We look forward to him supporting and contributing to the company’s further development as the UK’s leading independent wholesaler and distributor of alcohol.”

Meanwhile, another listed company, Manchester-based purchaser and manager of debt Arrow Global says its group chief financial officer Rob Memmott is to step down.

Paul Cooper, currently CFO of the international insurance business Sompo Canopius, will replace him and will join the board on January 1.

He was previously a partner at Ernst & Young in the financial services division, following five years as a finance director at the quoted insurer Hiscox.
