All clear for Spinningfields luxury homes

How homes will look inside

Property development and regeneration company Watch This Space has secured planning permission for the development of two luxury townhouses in the Spinningfields area of Manchester city centre.

Located on Wood Street fronting the grade II-listed John Rylands Library, Manchester City Council has granted planning consent for the creation of two, three-bed townhouses offering private garages, roof terraces and double height spaces.

The project team includes Snook Architects and Iceni Projects, which advised on planning.

The announcement follows on from the company’s off-market acquisition of the site in December, 2016, which is currently used for car parking.

Michelle Rothwell, founder of Watch This Space, said: “As a developer based in the city we’ve been striving to challenge the market and improve both the quality and size of the overall residential offer in the city centre.

“Over the last decade, this area of Manchester has totally transformed into a destination where professionals want to be. Having to commute every day should no longer be part and parcel of working in Manchester.

“There is only a handful of townhouses like this scheme within the city’s prime core and so by creating luxury houses we’re providing people with a real alternative, where professionals can work and live in the city without having to compromise.”
