Lawyers moving up the ladder at DWF

International legal business DWF is trumpeting a total of 11 promotions across its offices in Manchester and Liverpool.

Among six people to move up the ladder in Manchester is new partner and corporate lawyer Lisa Stavropoulos who has particular expertise in M&A and equity capital markets (ECM) and is ranked second by number of ECM deals undertaken in the North West over the last 12 years (Experian).

Meanwhile, regulatory lawyer Simon Belfield has now been promoted to director.

The remaining promotions from associate to senior associate are: commercial litigation lawyer Ben Johnson, regulatory lawyer Joanne Witheford, insurance lawyer Jodie Kinnear and corporate lawyer Nicola Birchby.

Kirsty Rogers, executive partner of DWF Manchester, said: “This is a well-deserved achievement for these individuals who have demonstrated a huge amount of hard work and commitment. Among five promotions in Liverpool, insurance lawyers Fiona Matthews, who started at DWF in 2008 as an associate, and Giles Kellner have been made up to partner.

Joining them at senior management level is insurance specialists Lisa Sanzeri and Jo Baker and commercial litigation lawyer Ben Hughes who have now been promoted to director level.

The two offices employ a total of 1,327 people and represent clients including Morrisons, Serco, Premier Inn and adidas (from Manchester) and RSA, Allianz Legal Protection and NewRiver Retail (UK) (from Liverpool).
