Plans in for multi-million pound Altrincham scheme

Plans have been submitted for an £11m residential development on the banks of the Bridgewater Canal in Altrincham.

Altrincham-based Maya Property Developments, in partnership with Generation, has put forward plans for a 48 unit scheme with accommodation comprising 18 one bed and 30 two bedroom apartments accessed on Bridgewater Road.

There are 43 ground floor parking and 51 cycles spaces also proposed.

The application seeks permission for a mixed seven-and-three storey building on the site of the former Rileys Snooker Club on Bridgewater Road and close to the Altrincham Retail Park which is on the opposite side of the canal.

Should planning be approved, it is hoped that the scheme will start on site early summer 2018 with completion towards the end of 2019.

Sanjeev Mehan, founder of Maya Property Developments, said: “Altrincham is a fantastic location with a strong residential demand and great transport links. My team at Maya Property recognised the opportunity to actively contribute to the existing developments in the area. The site is in a location which had been overlooked in the past but with improvements to the canal path, a new bridge planned, nearby parks and the improving retail/leisure offering nearby, this is changing quickly.

“We hope to create a version of modern living with the latest smart-home functionality together with great design which still has time for nature, open space and areas to unwind. We look forward to delivering that vision with our partners, Generation.”

The professional team includes Paul Butler Associates (planning consultant), Zerum (Project Managers), Curtins (transport consultant), Civic Engineers (structural), Project23 (M&E), Gascoigne Hallman (sales).
