Popular Liverpool bar opens in Crosby

Regeneration specialist St Modwen has agreed a deal to bring a new boutique bar to Crosby on Merseyside in the former Mimi’s Café unit off Moor Lane.

Hard Times & Misery, an expert in craft beer and specialised gins, has now opened its second site in the village.

The bar is described as one of “Liverpool’s best kept secrets” and will build on the success of its bar at Maryland Street in Liverpool city centre.

David Nuttall, senior development manager for St Modwen, said: “This will be an excellent addition to Crosby Village and will complement our scheme at the Glenn Buildings well.

“We have made a significant investment into the village and the fact that a local business has chosen Crosby for their first site outside of the city centre is testament to the improvements that are being made to Moor Lane.

“St Modwen’s work to the Glenn Buildings will be finishing soon which will bring forward the newly refurbished units and further enhance the village centre.”

Jen Peterson of Hard Times & Misery said: “It’s great to be part of the redevelopment of Crosby Village. Hard Times and Misery was born out of a love for great beer and amazing gin, and we’re really excited to share our passion with the people of Crosby.”

The redevelopment work in Crosby has included the full-scale refurbishment of the existing Glenn Buildings North and Glenn Buildings South as well as the replacement of number 10 Moor Lane with a two-storey retail and leisure unit.

Lambert Smith Hampton and Pinsent Masons represented St Modwen.
