Liverpool ONE limbers up for JD Sports launch

JD Sports

JD Sports, the trainer and sports fashion retailer, has opened the doors to its 40,000sq ft store on Liverpool ONE’s Paradise Street.

JD Sports’ new store is split over two levels and sits at the gateway to Liverpool ONE from Church Street.

The upsized store designed by Brinkworth was created by incorporating an adjacent unit, previously Superdry, which relocated and opened a concept store on South John Street earlier in the year.

Miles Dunnett from Grosvenor Europe said: “The opening of JD Sports’ new store on Paradise Street is a major moment for Liverpool ONE, and a fantastic endorsement of its status and desirability amongst leading brands.

“JD Sports adds to the excellent fashion line-up of stores at Liverpool ONE that are the very best representations of some of the most sought-after consumer brands in the world, including Zara, Apple, Victoria’s Secret, Beauty Bazaar Harvey Nichols, Michael Kors and Nespresso.”

Warren Thompson, head of acquisitions at JD Sports, added: “The team worked incredibly hard to launch our new store in time for Christmas at Liverpool ONE and we are delighted with the results. JD Sports has always excelled in Liverpool ONE, but this new store is set to take the brand’s performance to another level. We are very excited to welcome visitors to the spectacular finished product, combining the very best mix of brands and product lines with an outstanding experience for our customers.”

News of the opening follows the recent launch of Nespresso’s concept boutique located on Peter’s Lane, the first of its kind in the UK and only their third globally. Other openings in the past six months a store for independent performance leisure and fitness brand, realbuzz, Guess, Ben Sherman and Molton Brown.

Cushman & Wakefield and Metis Real Estate Advisors acted for Liverpool ONE. JD Sports dealt direct.
