TheBusinessDesk.com introduces new categories for 2018 Business Masters Awards

As the entry deadline fast approaches for the 2018 Business Masters, which recognise the achievements of companies of all sizes, we take a look at two new categories introduced for this year’s awards.

An award for Business turnaround is up for grabs after judges last year identified the efforts of those businesses that have become successful after coming through tough times.

Meanwhile, businesses can enter for the Investment award, which will recognise companies that have made a major investment in any way – such as in resources, staff, technology, location and skills.

The awards dinner, run by TheBusinessDesk.com and sponsored by Convex Capital LLP, is one of the key events in the region’s business calendar.

There are 12 awards – 11 for companies and one individual award – enabling every company to enter.

The glitzy black-tie event takes place at the Midland Hotel in Manchester on Thursday, April 19.

Judges this year will include the editor of TheBusinessDesk.com Alex Turner, managing director of marketing agency MC2 Claire Tennant, Lou Cordwell, the founder and chief executive of digital design studio MagneticNorth, Colin Shenton, the founder of workspace provider Ziferblat – the winner of the 2017 Innovation Award, Paul Griffiths, chairman of The Monastery of St Francis & Gorton Trust, which runs The Monastery community facility at Gorton, Manchester, and Neil Worsley managing partner of Convex Capital, our headline sponsor.

Lloyds Bank will also sponsor the International Trade category.

The deadline for entries is 5pm on Friday, February 2, 2018.

TheBusinessDesk.com’s Alex Turner said: “It is fantastic to be able to celebrate the successes of businesses, with the awards showcasing the achievements of the largest and most high-profile companies alongside smaller and emerging businesses. We are delighted to introduce two new categories this year which we are sure will attract a great range of entries.

“The standard of entries so far has been really high and we are looking forward to once more hearing about the achievements of companies in our region.”

This black-tie dinner attracts key influencers, decision makers, business owners and senior managers from a wide range of companies and business sectors.

The categories are:
Business Master in Newcomer
Business Master in Innovation
Business Master in International Trade
Business Master in Fast Growth Business
