Technical director standing down at £200m-turnover firm

Jon Fisher, technical director of £200m aviation software provider Calrom, is standing down after 11 years.

He is leaving his job at the Wilmslow-Cheshire headquartered firm – part of the same group as Lime and Aviate – to pursue personal ventures, but will remain with the company until a replacement has been recruited.

Under his guidance, Calrom has established as a separate business to develop technology and software solutions for Lime, Aviate and the group’s airline partners.

Calrom now employs 60 staff across four offices, including a new development office in Lahore, Pakistan. Further growth is planned and the business is aiming to increase its technical team to 90 employees by mid-2018.

Fisher said: “My role as technical director has been tremendously rewarding. It’s been a fantastic journey and I’m pleased that I was able to play a major part in building the company to what it is today. Now it’s time for me to explore new ventures.”

Managing director Michael Edwards said: “We are extremely grateful to Jon for his leadership and strategic direction. Calrom has made great progress under his leadership.

“Jon will be sorely missed – his technology know-how, expertise, problem solving skills, good humour, innovation, determination and enthusiasm is second to none, but we wish him well for the future.

“He has done a great job for Calrom since the company was established, and it is understandable that, after 11 years as Technical Director, he wants to concentrate on other avenues. There will be no impact on our customers and they will continue to see Jon around for the coming months.”
