People on the move: Pelican Communications; Gateley Plc; Trident Building Consultancy; Storrs Hall

Oldham-based marketing and PR agency, Pelican Communications, has appointed three new team members following several new account wins.

Chiedza Zvirahwa, 26, joins Pelican after stints with agencies in Norwich and Newcastle upon Tyne. She will work across several key food, foodservice and logistics accounts.

Digital consultant, Casey Li, 29, previously worked in a similar role at North West physiotherapy practice Harris & Ross. She will be active across a range of accounts and help grow Pelican’s online profile.

Aria Baranauskaite, 24, joins the consultancy’s highly successful graduate training scheme. She will be working on a range of packaging and environmental clients.

Managing director Michael Bennett said: “These appointments will strengthen our team and deepen the range and quality of the marketing services we provide to clients.

“I look forward to seeing them progress and help deliver Pelican’s motto of ‘driving brilliant results’ for our clients.”

Pelican Communications was created by former newspaper editor, Michael Bennett, after more than a decade of experience with major consultancies.

The company specialise in the food, foodservice, packaging, environment and outdoor sectors.

Gateley Plc, the legal business of law-led professional services group Gateley, has continued to expand its real estate offering making its first appointment to the residential development team in Manchester – legal director Louise Ilhan.

Ilhan has more than 18 years’ experience in property law and was previously company solicitor at property developer Merepark Homes in Altrincham for eight years, where she was involved in the full development cycle of mixed-use and residential property.

Prior to this she worked in the Real Estate team at Manchester firm Cobbetts LLP, for over ten years.

Rod Waldie, head of Gateley Plc’s property group and head of the Manchester office, said: “Our residential development team has grown at an impressive rate over the past few years and I’m delighted to be welcoming Louise to the department, enabling us to offer this service from Manchester, as well as Birmingham, London, Leeds and Nottingham – the widest range of offices from which a residential development team operates for any UK firm.

Trident Building Consultancy has considerably expanded its presence in the North West of England following a significant increase of work in the region.

Paul Magill joins the Liverpool office as a senior building surveyor in the building consulting team.

Magill joins from AECOM. At Trident, he will work both locally in the North West and also throughout the UK for national framework clients.

Andrew Prince joins the Liverpool office as an assistant building surveyor while Daniel Lawson has begun
work in Salford in the same role, moving from the role of construction field technician at Socotec UK.

Tom Bailey also works in Salford as an assistant building surveyor, having previously been a trainee development manager at Countryside Properties PLC.

Meanwhile, Sarah Fitzpatrick joins the Liverpool office as secretary for asset services and building consultancy. She was previously at CBRE, and has worked in asset services and building consultancy for more than 12 years.

The Lake Edge Restaurant at Storrs Hall on the shores of Windermere in the Lake District has welcome new head chef Paul Nicholson.

Andy Nicholson, general manager at Storrs Hall said: “We are excited to welcome Paul to the team, property and the location, and feel together we can develop the food across the hotel, from The Lake Edge Restaurant, Tower Bar, Drawing Room afternoon tea, private dining and our amazing weddings.
