CRG acquires national health care recruiter to become £130m turnover firm

Merseyside healthcare and medical professionals recruitment group Castlerock has bought national agency Health Care Locums, doubling its turnover to become a £130m company.

In striking the deal, Prescot-based Castlerock Recruitment Group has bought the company which supplies staffing services in sectors including nursing, allied health professionals and health sciences, social care and doctors in the UK and internationally.

The amalgamation of the two companies creates one of the largest and most diverse, market-leading providers of temporary and permanent health and social care professionals across the public sector, Ministry of Defence and private sector and opens up a wealth of opportunity to the newly combined group.

Ian Munro, chief executive of CRG, said: “This is a monumental acquisition for CRG and represents a transformational addition to the CRG group.

“It marks the beginning of another very exciting opportunity for CRG providing further scale, diversity and improved ability to cross sell our health and social care services, including access to market leading vendor managed service technology.”

CRG shareholders Munro, Tristan Ramus and Jamie Webb led the acquisition which increases CRG’s international presence with operations in India, Italy and the Philippines.

Funding was by Close Brothers while Deloitte acted as lead adviser to HCL, led by Katie Folwell-Davies and Ian Bleakley.
